In my very early 20s I wandered along the canals of Amsterdam and spent a lonely, cold Christmas in Aachen. Before that decade was over, I swayed to a Gospel choir on the Caribbean island of Antigua, and chilled in the shade of a volcano in Antigua, Guatemala.

Since those early years, I have returned to Amsterdam a few times (including a May visit this year), been enchanted in Abiquiu, felt the insufferable weight of Auschwitz-Birkenau, straddled the Arctic Circle, spent nights in haunted Amargosa, and gazed in awe at the Taj Mahal in Agra. Past adventures include Aukland, Austria, Australia, and many other A-List locations. Photographs from a few of these experiences are presented in this journal.
