Abstraction is a visual language that will be gibberish to some viewers but strike a chord with others. Art has the potential to encourage artists, viewers and critics to engage in a dialogue. Even if the dialogue is between the painting and viewer. My suggestion to a viewer of my paintings is “Listen with your eyes.” – Norman Carr
